    PEOPLE INTERNACIONAL

    NOVIEMBRE

    DIA 23

    Bible Verse

    Ephesians 6 V 10 - 13

Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in his mighty power.

Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against
    the devil's schemes.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the
    rulers, against the authorities,
against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces
of evil in the heavenly realms.

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil
comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done
    everything, to stand.
    _________________________________________________________

    Prayer
We come before you today thanking you for your written word which gives
us hope and courage. Quicken our hearts with the desire to read and
study your word. Grant us the wisdom to discern your will for us. Grant
us the courage to put on the armor of God, so that we can stand fast in
the presence of evil. Grant us the faith, Father, to be strong in our
knowledge that you are our God, and that you will never leave or
forsake us. We give you all honor and praise in the name of Jesus.  Amen.

What they are saying in Pittsburgh
    Bearcats hold off Panthers
"Defensively we could not get them off the field," Pitt coach Dave Wannstedt said. "That kid [Pike], I have to give him credit, he played about as good as any quarterback has played against us in the last two or three years. Not only did he get away from our rush, and we got guys who can rush, he made throws, he found receivers down the field and made some excellent throws under pressure."
    Pitt couldn't catch Pike
Asked if Pitt had lost to a better team, tailback LeSean McCoy shot back, "Better team? No, not at all."

He headed toward the stands and started circling to shake hands with the few fans who remained.

    Sufragettes, Squirels and Scolari

Sunday, November 23, 2008, 01:59 PM GMT [Football]

And so to Chelsea. I take a welcome walk through New Brompton Cemetery, trying to avoid squirrels, one of which takes a ride on my trouser leg. The back drop of this Victorian landmark are the imposing stands of Stamford Bridge. I walk past Emmeline Pankhurst's well kept grave, then consider the death of Chelsea's unbeaten home run.

There was a time when covering Chelsea at home meant one thing: a home win. Not so now. As you leave the graveyard and mingle with the faithful heading to the ground you can even sense a feeling of foreboding, that maybe the anticipated victory over a team heading for relegation isn't so certain.

Inside the press room one of the press officiers, a Kiwi, is watching his country beating Australia in the rugby league World Cup final. At least somebody in Chelsea colours is going to finish the day with a smile.

A poor game in which Newcastle do their job well ends goalless. Not since February have Chelsea been involved in a goalless draw. Then again, with Liverpool and United pegged back as well, it isn't so bad. So much for my prediction on Something For the Weekend, the Telegraph TV show I appear on each week.

I suggested to anybody having a bet that they should go for an accumulator, on those three winning. Glad I forget to place a bet.

Afterwards, Luiz Felipe Scolari comes into the press room and delivers his feelings. He is not complaining about Newcastle's tactics, he accepts they came for a draw and got it.

Then enters Joe Kinnear. His return to football is a welcome sight for those of us who used to cover the old Wimbledon. His press conferences at Selhurst Park were famously funny. Despite a heart attack, good old Joe hasn't changed.

He reveals he's been offered another month by his chairman, that he's already looking into the transfer market.

I go into the tunnel to try and get player reaction. Myself and two colleagues get another chat with Scolari then are offered Florent Malouda, who speaks well. I am continually impressed with how many foreign players speak our tongue so well.

By the time I leave Stamford Bridge most fans have departed. I retrace my route back, though the cemetery is shut by now. I'm sure I see a couple of squirrels staring at me through the bars of the gate, wanting a lift. And that's what Chelsea need, starting in France this week, followed by the visit of Arsenal. It promises to be an interesting few days.

    Blogging ... a poem

Sunday, November 23, 2008, 01:57 PM GMT [Creative Writing]

    Blogging is the happy medium:

    Players reconcile

Three parts fun with four parts tedium,

    Two parts bile.

    All in all, it's heaven-sent

    To spawn the happy accident

(Or hell-bent, as the case may be

    On dumbed-down mediocrity).

    As the quintessential source

    Of the easy, quick emotion

Is the sea of ones and noughts,

    The cybersphere draws force

    From humanity's surrender

    To proceedings for divorce

From what is solid, and devotion

To ebb and flow of liquid thoughts.

    It's the ultimate mind-blender:

    Now high-flown; now squalid.

    (Addictive too, of course),

    Altruistic, self-indulgent;

    Obscurantist, effulgent.

This online propagator that we call MyT

Will nurture certain shoots while others falter

    Or flounce and bounce interminably.

    Human nature doesn't alter:

The same water finds a different channel

To take it to the sea.

    A far-flung, self-selected panel

    Gathers to debate

    Epoch-making news, or flannel ...

    BNP, the welfare state,

    Euro, pound and dollar;

    Or some benighted acolyte

    In clerical dog-collar

Will rage against the dawning of the light

(Hell subsists in other people's fervour):

    Kindness, blindness, calm and spite

To be gazed at and dissected at our leisure.

Still, blogging is an infant in its server:

Once we have found our measure,

    From randomness may rise

    A new synergistic treasure ...

    Or some virtual mince pies.

    amor

Sunday, November 23, 2008, 08:53 AM EST [General]

" amor, only in a dream i ever thought you'd find me... amor, fell into a kiss and left the world behind me... amor, never was a touch, enough to just persuade... amor, now that i can feel my heart, my thoughts evade me..."

this song tells my feeling tonight, lovely, warm, languid and "bothering"  at the same time.. i'm so very much an emotive-person, but sometimes it is hard to believe in your emotions, when your brain tells otherwise...well known feeling to you as well i suppose...there's a snowstorm outside, i just got inside, here it's nice and warm :) maybe i'm going to update my familysearch page, and later we'll do some snowflakes on the windows....drinking hot glogg and maybe some sauna as well...nice... :)

It was bedtime and the father sent the little girl up to bed. She wanted a bedtime story and the father agreed. She wanted a new story for she was tired of the book that they had been using, a compendium of tales about Australia. The girl insisted and the father agreed, she made him promise.

Ten minutes late the girl was in bed and her father appeared at the bedroom door. He had the 'Australia Book' under his arm.

"Daddy!! Why did you bring that book that I don't like...."

    Wait for it,

    Wait for it,

    Woeful environmental ignorance.

Sunday, November 23, 2008, 01:40 PM GMT [General]

I am moved to write this as Hawthorn has just blogged on Robins.

There appears to be a woeful ignorance on this site of any real knowledge of wildlife, the creatures current crises in population here in the UK and what anyone can do about it as an individual.

If you will forgive me I will lift over a few of my answers about birds and then carry on with he subject.  Hawthorne was asking why cerain birds fight in his garden.

' All territorial birds govern a territory that provides sufficient food for that one family. Territories are sized according to the amount of food produced so can be large or small. Not to defend one's territory is death by starvation.
Robins have a mixed diet and like proteins such as worms and bugs, so do sparrows, thus they are a direct threat to the food supply. Tits are seed eaters and therefore not to be considered as great a threat to the robin.
This is why it is extremely cruel to habitually feed garden birds and then arbitrarily stop. If the feeder is regularly filled, territories shrink and birds live at a higher density. To stop in Winter means certain death for small birds as there are no natural alternatives for foraging. If feeders are to be discontinued it should be done in midsummer, say late July, that gives time for new territories to be sought, thus avoiding an avian Darfur!'

'It is not known why certain species are either flocking. territorial or migratory, that is a real mystery.'

It continued as to why populations of birds are decreasing

'Apart from that, I suspect an awful lot of changing in population is due to destruction of habitat. Native plants are sacrificed for garden plantings which the birds, insects and wildlife do not eat.
There is an interesting correlation between the traditional flowering and fruiting habits of native flora that is echoed in the life cycles of the various creatures that feed upon said flora. With removal
